SCADA software package for the high communication

Willowglen Systems Inc. offers a full-featured SCADA software package for the high communication processing requirements of SCADA systems with large numbers of serial communications lines. The Willowglen VISTA-II™ FEP (Front End Processor) is ideally suited to offloading the serial communications load from the main SCADA processors and thereby providing a quicker, more economical and more efficient distributed processing system. The FEP connects to the SCADA host computers over standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Local Area Network connections and communicates on the LAN using TCP/IP. The FEP is equipped with serial communication expansion cards with RISC processors and each FEP can support up to 224 serial communication lines.

The FEP is available in single or completely fault tolerant dual redundant configurations where under normal circumstances, both FEPs will simultaneously communicate with the RTUs. If one FEP fails, then Willowglen's Changeover Switch Rack can be used to automatically switch the communication lines to the other unit without any interruption to the system.

Willowglen provides a number of modem and radio options including high-density modem racks which can multi-drop a number of 2400 to 33.6k baud modems to a single RS-232 communication line.
